I was the UX owner of the My Library feature cross platform. The goal of this feature was to create a place in the app to contain all of your personalized content such as your recordings, items you had been watching and your favorite channels.
Goals
UI should expand to promote recently viewed content, and help support My Library’s importance.
Should feature, Watchlist, Rentals, Personalized Recommendations.
Problem Statement
Recent Channels have value by reducing the guide but not necessarily helpful for promoting content
Global Navigation and organization. Where does My Library go on Mobile?
DVR is valuable & personal. But limited when mobile without CDVR Need a landing other than Live TV.
We need a way to expose what’s trending on Live TV at the time that we launch the app. Live accounts for more than 80% of the time spent in app on mobile platforms.
Information Architecture
The default view for a first time customer will be My Library. My Library will move from a sub-navigation item within On Demand and become the first functional area within the navigation.
